What are you reading now?
We writers drool over books the way people drool at the sight of food. I am sure I am one of the few people who goes gaga in bookshops and I just adore the smell and feel of new books.
I am extremely possessive about my collection of books. Infact, friends who borrow my books have to suffer my frequent phone calls regarding how much they have read and when will they return the book.
Currently there are quite a few books on my TBR list.
1. Holes by Louis Sachar
2. Ash by Malinda Lo
3. The Puffin Book of Animal Stories for 6 -year olds (in which I have contributed a short story).
4. The Life of Aung San Suu Kyi by Peter Popham
Whats on your TBR list? Which book has currently snagged your interest and which author has captured your fancy now? We all would love to know what you all are reading now?
P.S. I am taking a blogging break for a few days. I will return in the first week of June. Till then, happy writing.

ReplyDeleteHave a rest, I'm struggling to read blogs and finish my sequel by August when I'm supposed to be signing it! Think I'm using diversionary tactic! Note to self, must stop this!!
ReplyDeleteI am reading The House of Mirth, by Edith Wharton. My list? Oh, I have so many, it is hard to remember what will come next.
ReplyDeleteCurrently reading The Happy Numbers of Julius Miles by Jim Keeble. Has a lot in common with my own style of writing. Quite impressed so far and a third to go.
ReplyDeleteI have a shelf of books to read. I never look for books to read. They find me.
I'm reading Aztec by Gary Jennings, which is a long book, and at the same time reading shorter books. I just finished Burning Bright by Tracy Chevalier and, before that, Claude and Camille by Cowell.
ReplyDeleteFinishing M. Pax's The Backworlds and then I have dozens of books waiting.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break!
I love Holes!! I hope you like it! I'd love to see Sachar's notes on how he plotted that novel and came up with his ideas. It's a really fantastic novel.
ReplyDeleteI just finished reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith and it was wonderful. Now I'm reading Moon over Manifest by Clare Vanderpool and I'm really enjoying it!
Have a happy blog break, Rachna!

Hi Rachna,
ReplyDeletegood to be here again after a bit gap, yes, books are still my friends and i love book more than anything else, but at this computer age people are just lagging behind to catch up a book, its really sad to note that the borrowers attitude, ones they borrow a book it never returns, unless you do a follow up work, your follow up business with your borrowers are really praiseworthy, keep going.
happy holidays, come back soon
with lot more stuffs, lol

I browsed a second-hand bookshop and picked up a copy of The Alchemist by Paul Coelho... from what I've heard about the book, I'm expecting it to be a "revelation" of sorts...
ReplyDeleteHi friends, thanks for sharing the books you all are reading. My TBR pile is becoming longer :)
ReplyDeleteI have so many on my TBR pile!! Yikes. Just trying to wade through them all comfortably. lol
ReplyDeleteI have 88 books on my Goodreads TBR list! The next few I am reading are Moon Called and War for the Oaks.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I've read Huntress by Malindo Lo, and it was really good. I got to see her on a panel at a conference, too.
My TBR pile is a scary place right now. I'm currently rereading Divergent and then I'm reading Insurgent.
